New Telling Room Stories
I had the great privilege of recently seeing the play "Hamilton" with my 14 year-old daughter, in New York City. The play ends with an actor asking the audience directly, "Who tells your story?" I have pondered this question recently, in a general way. What is the significance of storytelling?
Telling stories links us to our past, and provides a glimpse into the future. Stories can entertain, teach, inspire, provide context, and inform. They can even bring about social change. The process of telling our own stories can bring us insight, and connect us with other individuals and our environment.
No one knows this better than The Telling Room and its staff, volunteers and storytellers. They were generous enough to provide us with stories by young storytellers that are connected with Casco Bay. Click the button below listen to these wonderful stories by talented storytellers.
